What are Active, Inactive, and Historic Pages?

What are Active, Inactive, and Historic Pages?

An active page is a page that is currently attracting users, basically generating a pageview on your website.

An inactive page is a page that hasn’t had a pageview in the previous 3 months.

A historic page is a page that generated a pageview previously but hasn’t in the previous 12 months.

Why is knowing this important?

Knowing what pages are active helps you understand what content your audience is interested in. Know what pages are inactive, you can identify potential problems such as a page’s content has changed and resulted in less traffic, or a page was removed from the site that shouldn’t be.
