What does Bounce Rate Mean?
What Is Bounce Rate?
The Bounce Rate metric tracks the percentage of single-page sessions by a user. This occurs when a user lands on a page and doesn’t navigate elsewhere within the site, but instead exits the website.
Why Bounce Rate Important?
Bounce rate is an important metric if the site and your business cannot benefit from a single-page session. High bounce rates can represent one of many problems.
- a poorly designed user experience
- lack of trust from users
- slow site speed
- content the user wasn’t looking for
- pop-up ads
- poorly written content
It’s important to note that a few types of pages are bound to have high bounce rates (e.g. Contact page or a blog post).
